Lesson 1: What type of writer are you?

Welcome!

The first question I want you to ask yourself is what kind of writer, blogger and content producer you really are?

'Easy' you might think. But is it?

You need to think through the motivations you have for putting your work out in there in the world because that should direct and inform everything you write about and post online.

Let me explain.

There are two types of blog writer and content producer.

There are people who do it purely for fun, and there are people who do it for a purpose of some kind.

When you’re putting your content out there only for fun - you’re just doing it for the hell of it.

Your blogs, tweets, photos and videos might or might not get noticed but that’s not why you’re doing it.

In fact you don’t care if you’re stuff gets seen at all – and that’s great!

But when you create content and blog for a purpose you’re putting your stuff out there for a reason.

You’re blogging to promote your passion, to help your career, your project, your business, your campaign in some way.

You’re doing it to help or educate others, help to change things – or just to make others happier.

Whatever your reason, it that means when you blog with a purpose, you care if your posts get read and noticed.

Now, I’m not saying that writing and creating content can’t be fun – of course not.

But what it does mean is that if you creating content for a purpose:

You need to know why you’re creating it and who you’re creating it for.

And that’s really what this course is all about.

So, now, it's time you moved along to your first challenge.

In this challenge I'm going to ask you to take a super-simple quiz to find out what kind of writer you are.

When you come back you’ll have decided and you’ll start digging deeper into what your specific reason for creating content is.

See you soon.
